What are your top 3 favourite Cheerleading Company hen parties in London?
- Cheerleading – Because everything is more fun with Poms!!
- Single ladies – Because I LOVE the dance! I do it every time I go out on a girlie night so I love teaching it to all the hens knowing how much fun they will have performing it on their night out or even at the wedding!!
- Dirty Dancing – I know every line in the film!
What do you love about teaching hen parties in London?
I have been teaching hen parties for a few years now and I love every second of it! It is the best job!
I always look forward to going to work as it is like having a party. I think it is great how every hen party is unique. No matter how shy the hens are at the start, they always have such a laugh and find their inner diva. By the end of the party the hens always perform a routine to rival the stars and it makes me feel so proud and happy!
What dance experience have you had?
I have a strong foundation in ballet, jazz, street, musical theatre, drama and gymnastics. I studied at Bodywork company dance studios in Cambridge where I developed a strong interest in contemporary dance. I went on to train with LABAN and Cambridge County Youth Dance Company. I now specialise in street dance and cheerleading which has led to some great opportunities including backing dancing in a music video for Dynamite MC alongside UK street dance champions, Peridot as well as choreographing and producing shows performed at the Royal Albert Hall.
How did you become a Cheerleading Company hen party instructor?
I have always loved cheerleading and I used to compete in championships. I am also a qualified cheerleading coach specialising in pom dance and street cheer. I love the challenge and fun of cheer coaching and of ensuring my team achieve excellence whilst always having huge cheer smiles! My proudest moment was leading a team to take first place in national championships. I knew that The Cheerleading Company specialise in cheerleading for hens and I loved the idea of sharing the fun of cheerleading with girls on a hen do and being able to combine that with my dance teaching is even better. So when I saw the auditions listed to be the Newcastle hen party instructor, I jumped at the chance and haven’t looked back since.
After teaching in Newcastle for over a year, I moved down to London in order to progress my dance career. As well as teaching hen parties, I also now teach the Cheerleading Company classes at Pineapple Dance Studios and am a member of Pineapple Cheerleaders - the professional cheerleading squad which is so much fun!
