What are your top 3 cheerleading company parties?
- Cheerleading, because it is so much fun and the Bride loves her personalised cheer
- Single Ladies – because who wouldn’t want to learn that routine and burst into it every time it is played?!
- Burlesque because it makes people feel good about themselves, and I like to help the groups become confident & sexy
Who are your dance inspirations?
As I love all styles of dance, it is hard to think of just a few inspirations! I love dance theatre so companies such as Jasmin Vardimon, Ultima Vez and Motionhouse have always inspired me.
More commercially, I’ve always loved the fierceness of The Pussycat Dolls – especially Kimberly Wyatt, her performances on ‘Got to Dance’ are always phenomenal.
How did you get into cheerleading?
I actually started cheerleading as a child. I’ve always loved dance, and cheerleading was a fun & exciting way to be part of a dance team. Teaching was a natural progression for me. I studied BTEC Dance at Performing Arts and Musical Theatre college, and went on to specialise in contemporary dance at the University of Bedfordshire. Since then I have taught cheerleading and creative dance classes to children of all ages and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor. I joined the Cheerleading Company back in January 2012, and have loved every minute since! I can’t think of any other job that could be as fun as dancing with such enthusiastic hens!
